The Accelerated International Masters Qualifying Program (MQP) is a dedicated postgraduate bridge designed to help students transition into high-level university study in Australia within a single semester. It focuses on building the specific academic habits and technical communication skills needed to thrive in Australian business and technology environments.
What You Will Study
Students complete four core units that combine technical knowledge with academic preparation: Business Communication, Business Ethics, Enterprise IT Management, and Organisational Security. Rather than just learning theory, students practice the critical analysis and complex problem-solving required for postgraduate degrees. The curriculum is structured to help students read, write, and debate higher-level concepts effectively in a discipline-specific context.
The Student Experience
Being a student in this program is fast-paced and immersive. Each unit requires approximately 12–13 hours of work per week, including two hours of lectures, two hours of tutorials, and one hour of guided pre-reading. The classroom environment is highly collaborative, encouraging students to work together on projects that mirror real-world business challenges. With smaller class sizes at the Danala City Campus, students receive personalised attention from staff to help them adjust to the "social activity" of Australian postgraduate learning.
Preparation for Your Future
This course acts as a direct entry point to a wide range of Charles Darwin University Master's programs, including the Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Information Technology, and Master of Business Administration. By mastering academic writing and research ethics before their main degree starts, students are better equipped to handle the intensity of a full Master's workload. The program also offers a global perspective by bringing together students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an international network that is valuable for future careers in multinational organisations.
