Foundation Studies of Engineering & Computer Science

This Foundation Studies program will help you gain entry into engineering and science-related degrees at La Trobe University.

Course Structure

Students undertake four subjects each trimester, focusing on core academic skills and discipline-specific knowledge:

Trimester 1:

• Academic Communication 1
• Essential Maths 1
• Independent Learning 1
• Electives: Physics 1 or Advanced Maths 1

Trimester 2:

• Academic Communication 2
• Essential Maths 2
• Independent Learning 2
• Electives: Physics 2 or Advanced Maths 2

Career Pathways & Progression

Upon successful completion, students gain direct entry into the first year of selected La Trobe University degrees:

• Bachelor of Computer Science
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours)
• Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Industrial)
• Bachelor of Science (Mathematics)

Scholarships

La Trobe University offers various scholarships for international students:

• La Trobe High Achiever Scholarship: Up to 25% tuition fee reduction.
• La Trobe Vice Chancellor Scholarship: 50% or 100% tuition fee reduction.
