Practical Computing and Specialised Tracks
The curriculum balances core computational methodologies with specific specialization tracks that students choose based on their career goals. Everyone starts with core topics like programming concepts using Python, artificial intelligence, and applied machine learning. From there, students pick a dedicated path: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Web Development. In the Data Science track, students work on data engineering and visualization. The Artificial Intelligence track covers computer vision, natural language processing, and robotic process automation. Those choosing Web Development focus on building interactive applications using Python and modern web software.
Hands-on Projects and the Capstone Experience
Rather than relying purely on theoretical exams, the program emphasizes active development and practical application. Students spend a significant portion of their final semesters working on a two-part Capstone Project. This extensive project requires students to identify a real-world problem, design a computational solution, write the necessary code, and deploy the system. Through this experience, students learn how to manage a tech project from start to finish, troubleshoot software bugs, and test their code under realistic conditions.
Campus Learning and Student Resources
The learning experience takes place at the Perdana University campus located in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur. Students have access to the Perdana University Learning Resource Centre and modern computing labs designed for heavy coding and data modeling workloads. Because the campus sits right in the city, students are a short walk from the Semantan MRT Station, making it easy to commute and access nearby food courts, cafes, and libraries during study breaks. The institution's Student Services team also assists with organizing accommodation options like twin-sharing or single rooms nearby to help students settle into university life comfortably.
