Global public health issues necessitate global answers as well. Infectious diseases and tainted products can spread quickly when people and human and animal foods are moved more freely.
The importance of public health has never been greater as we work to prevent illness and guarantee that people enjoy long, healthy lives. In contrast to treating sick people and addressing the direct effects of disease, public health focusses on maintaining the health of the general public as well as the health of individuals. Preventing disease and addressing its causes, including behavioural and environmental factors, are the main priorities.
Aimed at individuals who intend to pursue jobs domestically or abroad, the one-year, full-time postgraduate degree offered by University College Dublin (UCD) & RUMC includes modules and research projects that are specifically focused on public health issues.
