Building Immersive Worlds
In this course, you move beyond the basics and start constructing complex, interactive 3D environments from the ground up. You will spend significant time in the Screen Arts faculty using professional software like Unreal Engine or Unity to design "World Building" projects. You aren’t just placing objects; you are researching historical and contemporary aesthetics to create original fictional settings with their own narratives. The daily experience involves a mix of physical and digital drawing in "Studio Drawing 2," where you refine your visual voice through narrative projects like motion comics or graphic novels.
Advanced 3D Production Pipelines
The heart of the technical training lies in "3D Animation Production" and "Gaming Art and Design 2". You will learn to manage an efficient production pipeline, mastering hard and soft surface modeling, texturing, and rigging. A major focus is asset optimization—learning how to make high-quality 3D assets that perform smoothly on different gaming platforms. You will also dive into Realtime rendering and dynamic animation, ensuring your characters move and react naturally within the game engine.
Collaborative Studio Culture
Being a student here feels like working in a professional game studio. Through "Cross-Disciplinary Workshops," you will join forces with students from other creative specialties, such as audio production or animation, to build complete interactive experiences. This mimics the real-world gaming industry, where communication, leadership, and team dynamics are just as important as coding or art skills. You will be responsible for managing your own project workflows, participating in group critiques, and using self-reflective documentation to track your growth.
Career Transitions and Real-World Readiness
The program is delivered via a HyFlex model, giving you the flexibility to work on-campus with high-end hardware or participate online. By the end of the year, you will have resolved a major creative project that serves as a centerpiece for your professional portfolio. This qualification is a direct pathway into roles like game designer, 3D modeler, or technical artist, and it provides a solid foundation for those looking to pursue higher-level degree studies in Screen Arts or Digital Media.
