The Bachelor of Business at Stanley College is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical realities of the global marketplace. Students progress from learning broad fundamental concepts to specializing in their chosen field, culminating in a significant workplace placement.
A Step-by-Step Learning Path
Your journey begins with a first year focused on "self-awareness and development," where you tackle core subjects that build your understanding of the business landscape. In the second year, the focus shifts toward understanding the Australian workplace and deeper specialization. By the third year, you apply everything you have learned through a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement, which is a mandatory part of the degree. Throughout the course, you will keep a portfolio of evidence to track your growth in professional and employability skills.
Choosing Your Specialization
You can tailor your degree by selecting one of four distinct majors: Accounting, Management, Digital Marketing, or Hospitality & Events Management. For instance, those in the Accounting major engage with curriculum accredited by CPA Australia and CAANZ, focusing on financial reporting and ethical decision-making. If you choose Management, your assignments will likely involve case studies on organizational behavior and sustainable leadership practices.
Life on Campus and Beyond
Studying at the West Perth campus means being part of a multicultural student body where collaboration is encouraged through group projects and peer feedback sessions. The environment is designed to feel professional yet supportive, with lecturers providing direct feedback on your assessment tasks to help you refine your portfolio. The transition from vocational diplomas into the degree is seamless, allowing for a diverse mix of students with different educational backgrounds.
Pathways to the Professional World
The primary goal of this course is to prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce. Graduates find roles in diverse areas such as financial management, marketing coordination, or event planning, depending on their major. Because the degree is an AQF Level 7 qualification, it also serves as a strong foundation for further academic pursuits, such as the Master of Business or other postgraduate studies.
