Course Overview

In addition to creating message content for printed or electronic media with a focus on aesthetics, a 21st century communication designer is also capable of developing new media channels to make sure the message reaches its intended audience.

In order to apply these to new design trends and projects, this program seeks to develop enthusiastic, imaginative thinkers who possess a solid grasp of important communication and information design ideas. It enhances and values the knowledge of contextual and historical referencing as well as the capacity to find original sources through research.

From a wider angle, joining creative cooperation teams will motivate you to enhance not only your personal creative abilities but also your networking and teamwork abilities.

Graduates of the program will also get a degree from Lancaster University upon successful completion. They will receive two certificates, indicating that they have graduated from Lancaster University and Sunway University.

Entry Requirement

The entry requirements include STPM with an average Grade C or CGPA 2.0 (minimum two principals) and a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu. A-Level applicants must have a minimum of 8 points (Grade D in at least two subjects, with points calculated as A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4, E=2). Australian Matriculation requires an ATAR of 55, Canadian Matriculation requires 55%, and the Monash University Foundation Year requires 55%. Both Sunway Foundation in Arts and Sunway Foundation in Science Technology require a CGPA of 2.0. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) applicants need a maximum of 28 points from five subjects, all with Grade Bs. International Baccalaureate candidates must complete the program with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points). Sunway Diploma holders in a related field must have a CAVG of 50% or CGPA 2.0, with advanced standing available if credit transfer requirements are met. Applicants with an APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) are also eligible, and other qualifications will be considered case-by-case. International students from certain countries must pass the six-month online International Preparatory Programme (IPP) with grade C and above in all subjects to enroll in select degree programs, including those offered in partnership with Lancaster University. Portfolio requirements include a minimum of five artworks showcasing diverse mediums and applications, such as drawings (still life, landscape, perspective, figure drawing, portrait), and additional works like photographs, poster designs, videos, animations, logo designs, or sculptures. English language requirements include IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, MUET Band 4, SPM English B+, UEC English B4, O-Level English (1119) Credit, a pass in Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Level 4 with at least 65%, or satisfactory ESL/English proficiency in pre-university programs where English is the medium of instruction.
