Entry Requirement

The entry requirements include STPM with a CGPA of 2.00, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject (minimum Grade C), or A-Level with a minimum of 12 points for Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject (minimum Grade D, where A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4, E=2). For Australian Matriculation, an ATAR of 65 is required, including Mathematics Methods and one Natural Sciences subject, while Canadian Matriculation demands 65%, including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, and one Natural Sciences subject. Monash University Foundation Year and Sunway Foundation in Science Technology require 65% and a CGPA of 2.5 respectively, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) applicants must achieve a maximum of 24 points from 5 subjects, with all Grade Bs, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. Diploma holders must have a CGPA of 2.5 in Engineering, Science, or Technology, while Matriculation/Foundation programs require a CGPA of 2.5, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. The IB Diploma requires a minimum of 25 points (excluding bonus points), including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. Equivalent qualifications with a CGPA of 2.5 are considered on a case-by-case basis. An APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) is also accepted. Specific requirements identify Natural Sciences subjects as Physics, Biology, or Chemistry, with a preference for Physics, and preference is given to SPM or equivalent qualifications in the Science stream. International students from certain countries must complete and pass a six-month International Preparatory Programme (IPP) with grade C or above in all subjects for specific Sunway University degree programs in partnership with Lancaster University. English language requirements include IELTS 6.0, MUET Band 4, SPM English B+, UEC English B3, O-Level English (1119) B3, or a pass in Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Level 4 with a minimum of 65%, as well as satisfactory ESL/English proficiency in pre-university programs taught in English. Malaysian students entering with qualifications where the medium of instruction is not English must meet MQA's requirement for MUET or an international English proficiency qualification to register for engineering programs.
