Course Overview

Students who complete the degree will have a solid technical understanding of a number of subjects, such as engineering management, electronics, signal processing, power engineering, and computer and communication systems. To make sure they are ready for engineering work after graduation, students will learn through practical experience in addition to the theory.

Numerous employment choices are available to those with a degree in electronic and electrical engineering. Graduates can pursue careers in a wide range of fields, including computer engineering, robotics, electronics, telecommunications, power systems, medical equipment, and more.

The Sunway University Bachelor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Honours (BEng Hons) degree is recognised as equivalent to that of Lancaster University's Master of Engineering Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Honours (MEng Hons) degree. Upon successfully completing the programme, Sunway University BEng Hons graduates will also be awarded the MEng Hons degree from Lancaster University. They will be awarded two certificates, making them graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University.

Entry Requirement

Applicants must meet one of the following academic qualifications: STPM with a CGPA of 2.00, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject (minimum Grade C); A-Level with at least 12 points for Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject (minimum Grade D, where A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4, E=2); Australian Matriculation with an ATAR of 65, including Mathematics Methods and one Natural Sciences subject; Canadian Matriculation with 65%, including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, and one Natural Sciences subject; Monash University Foundation Year with 65%, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject; Sunway Foundation in Science Technology with a CGPA of 2.5, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject; or the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a maximum of 24 points from 5 subjects (all grade Bs, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject). Diploma holders require a CGPA of 2.5 in Engineering, Science, or Technology fields, while Matriculation/Foundation qualifications must have a CGPA of 2.5, including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. IB Diploma applicants must complete the program with a minimum of 25 points (excluding bonus points), including Mathematics and one Natural Sciences subject. Other qualifications with a CGPA of 2.5 will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and applicants with an APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) are also eligible. Natural Sciences subjects include Physics, Biology, or Chemistry, with Physics given preference. SPM or equivalent qualifications in the Science stream are preferred. Certain international students may need to complete a six-month International Preparatory Programme (IPP) with all subjects at Grade C or above to progress to Sunway degree programs, especially those in partnership with Lancaster University. English language requirements include IELTS 6.0, MUET Band 4, SPM English B3 or B+, UEC English B3, O-Level English (1119) B3, passing Level 4 of the Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) with at least 65%, or satisfactory ESL/English proficiency in pre-university programs conducted in English. For Malaysian students with non-English-medium qualifications, MQA requires them to have MUET or equivalent international English proficiency qualifications to register for engineering programs.
