Entry Requirement

The admission requirements for various programs at Sunway University include specific criteria for STPM, A-Level, Australian Matriculation, Canadian Matriculation, Monash University Foundation Year, and other qualifications. For STPM, candidates must have an average C+ or CGPA of 2.33, with a minimum of 2 principals. A-Level candidates need at least 12 points, with a minimum Grade D in two subjects, including specific requirements for the Biomedicine programme (minimum Grade D in Biology, Physics/Mathematics, and Chemistry). A-Level points are calculated as A = 10 points, B = 8 points, C = 6 points, D = 4 points, and E = 2 points. Australian Matriculation, Canadian Matriculation, and Monash University Foundation Year candidates must have a minimum score of 60%. For the Sunway Foundation in Science & Technology, the minimum CGPA is 2.30. UEC candidates must achieve a maximum of 26 points from 5 subjects, all Grade Bs. International Baccalaureate (IB) candidates should complete with at least 25 points (excluding bonus points). Additionally, APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) for Recognition of Prior Learning is considered. Specific requirements for the Biomedicine program include 2 principals in Biology, Physics/Mathematics, or Chemistry at the STPM/Pre-University/Matriculation level. International students from certain countries may be required to take and pass the six-month International Preparatory Programme (IPP) for certain degree programs, with grade C or above in all subjects to progress. English language proficiency requirements for all students include IELTS 6.0, MUET Band 4, SPM English B+, UEC English B4, or O-Level English Credit B3. Sunway’s Intensive English Programme (IEP) requires passing Level 4 with a minimum of 65%. For Malaysian students whose prior education was not in English, MQA requires a MUET or international English proficiency qualification for registration.
