Course Overview

This programme provides students with a broad and in-depth knowledge of business management with flexible skills and competencies to work for any organisation or even to establish your own business in the future.

The programme encourages students to explore business in the context of operations, management and the evaluation of critical business information. Students will use the tools and techniques of management to analyse, evaluate, and make informed decisions; all of which play an important role in ensuring employability and profitability in a variety of local or global businesses.

This broad based programme also allows you the flexibility to pursue areas that particularly interest you through the wide range of elective subjects available. Its internship component provides you the opportunity to apply theory into practice, and prepares you to enter the workforce.

On successful completion of the programme, the graduates will also be awarded with a degree from Lancaster University. They will be awarded two certificates, making them graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University. In addition, successful graduates from this programme will be awarded a Level 5 / Diploma Professional Qualification in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute, U.K.

Entry Requirement

The admission requirements for Sunway University include an average C or CGPA 2.00 in STPM with a minimum of 2 Principals, or a minimum of 12 points in A-Level, where points are calculated as A = 10, B = 8, C = 6, D = 4, and E = 2. Australian Matriculation candidates require an ATAR of 55, while Canadian Matriculation and Monash University Foundation Year candidates need 55%. Sunway Foundation in Arts or Science & Technology applicants must have a CGPA of 2.0, and Sunway Diploma holders need a CAVG of 50% or CGPA of 2.0, with potential advanced standing if credit transfer requirements are met. UEC applicants must have a maximum of 28 points from 5 subjects (all grade Bs) and a pass in Mathematics, while International Baccalaureate candidates must complete the programme with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points). An APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) is also accepted. Specific requirements include a pass in Mathematics at SPM or its equivalent, and other qualifications are considered on a case-by-case basis. English language requirements include IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, MUET Band 4, SPM English B+, UEC English B4, O-Level English (1119) Credit, Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP) Pass Level 4 with a minimum of 65%, or ESL/English at a satisfactory level in Pre-University programmes where English is the medium of instruction. Additionally, international students from certain countries applying for programmes in partnership with Lancaster University must complete and pass the six-month International Preparatory Programme (IPP) with all subjects graded C or above to progress to the degree programme.
