Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) in Conventions and Events Management offers an industry-inspired programme to set you up for a professional career in the event industry.

The programme deals with conceptualising and pitching an event, to promotion and production, management and evaluation, covering all aspects of events management. You will emerge as a competent, industry-ready professional with great leadership abilities, technical competencies, communication techniques and problem-solving skills when working in a team or independently. The project management skills taught are also easily transferable to other sectors of business including marketing, business development and public relations.

Essential practical industry experience will be gained through a 20-week industry internship. Having close connections with industry practitioners, conference association, convention centres and the tourism bureau will make it easy for you to secure internship placements and future employment opportunities across various industries.

Entry Requirement

Applicants must meet one of the following academic qualifications: STPM with an average grade of C or CGPA 2.0 (minimum 2 Principals); A-Level with a minimum of 6 points (A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4, E=2); Australian Matriculation with an ATAR of 55; Canadian Matriculation with 55%; Monash University Foundation Year with 55%; Sunway Foundation in Arts or Science Technology with a CGPA of 2.0; Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a maximum of 28 points from 5 subjects (all Grade Bs); International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points (excluding bonus points); or Sunway Diploma Studies with a CAVG of 40% or CGPA 2.0 (students may receive advanced standing if credit transfer requirements are met). Applicants with an APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-6) or any equivalent qualifications will also be considered, while those without standard qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. English language requirements include IELTS 5.5 (with no band below 5.0), MUET Band 4, SPM English B+, UEC English B4, O-Level English (1119) Credit, passing Level 4 of the Sunway Intensive English Programme (IEP), or demonstrating a satisfactory level of ESL/English proficiency in pre-university programs where English is the medium of instruction.
