Diploma in Psychological Studies

Introduction to the Human Mind

The Diploma in Psychological Studies at TMC Academy introduces you to the study of human thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This program is built for students who want to understand why people act the way they do. Instead of just memorizing textbook definitions, you will explore how psychological concepts apply to everyday life, community issues, and workplaces.

Core Modules and Electives

Your studies cover both foundational skills and core psychology subjects. At the start, you will take modules in business communication, information technology, and academic success strategies to prepare you for tertiary assignments. After building these skills, you will study core modules like the science of psychology and exploring psychology. You will also pick one elective module based on your interests, choosing between introduction to counselling or industrial and organisational psychology.

Classroom Style and Assessments

Learning takes place entirely in Singapore through a mix of face-to-face lectures, small tutorial groups, interactive workshops, and student presentations. You will review real case studies and talk through behavioral examples during class discussions. Your grades do not depend on a single final exam. Instead, teachers assess your progress using a mix of written assignments, team projects, classroom quizzes, practical tests, and traditional exams.

Future Education and Career Paths

Graduating from this course gives you a foundational understanding of social sciences. Most students use this diploma as a pathway to transition into a full bachelor's degree in psychology. The communication abilities and behavioral insights you learn are also useful for starting roles in human resources, customer relations, public relations, and youth support services.
