Course Overview

This programme aims to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to engineer, strategically manage and administer the range of telecommunication systems and networks currently implemented worldwide. Graduates of this programme will have an understanding of the mathematical principles, costs, operation, and application capabilities of various telecommunications systems in order that they may work in the field of design, provisioning and implementation of such systems.

This programme is designed to integrate telecommunication systems with computer technology so that graduates can take up demanding, responsible and exciting positions in the rapidly expanding telecommunication industries. The programme has been developed in consultation with leading telecommunications companies in Mauritius and is tailored to the current needs of industry. Armed with this qualification, graduates will have a sound knowledge on programming techniques, on telecommunication and network technologies, on digital and analogue technologies, on legal issues and on standards used. Graduates will also have the necessary skills to develop a concept through the design and computer modeling stages.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have SPM or equivalent and have passed the English and MUET / TOEFL / IELTS;
Should have STPM or equivalent with at least grade C in Mathematics and Physics / Chemistry or
Matriculation Certificate or equivalent CGPA / PMK 2.0 at least or should have a diploma or a recognized equivalent Insaniah Senate (for candidates with SPM or 'O' level or
Equivalent, entry is through a Science Foundation course.
