Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) (Hons)

This discipline requires a broad knowledge referring to civil engineering fields. The objective of this program is to produce graduates who are academically qualified and skilled in the areas of civil engineering. Students who enrolled with this program will be exposed to various fields of knowledge about engineering that include design structures, foundations, concrete and steel, geomatics, geotechnical, water supply, highway, water resources, construction project management, IBS and materials. This program is accredited by Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).

The components of this program includes basic analysis and design structures such as reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures based on current standards requirements. In addition, an exposure in the fields of soil mechanics, geotechnical, materials, water supply, water resource, highway, construction and environmental management will be shared in this program.

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is a comprehensive program designed to produce graduates who are academically qualified and skilled in various civil engineering disciplines. The program is accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) under the Civil Engineering discipline.

Program Overview:

Students enrolled in this program will be exposed to a broad spectrum of civil engineering fields, including:

• Structural Design: Designing structures using reinforced concrete, steel, and timber based on current standards.
• Geotechnical Engineering: Studying soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
• Water Resources Engineering: Focusing on water supply, hydraulics, and wastewater management.
• Highway and Transportation Engineering: Designing and managing transportation systems.
• Construction Project Management: Overseeing construction projects from inception to completion.
• Industrialized Building System (IBS): Implementing prefabricated construction methods.
• Geomatics: Applying surveying and mapping techniques in engineering projects.

Curriculum Structure:

The program spans eight semesters, totaling 137 credit hours. The curriculum includes engineering core courses, non-engineering courses, and university requirements. Students will also engage in industrial training and a final year project to gain practical experience.
