The Express Preparation Program (EPP) is a high-speed academic bridge that prepares you for the rigors of Australian university life in just four months. It is specifically built for students who are nearly ready for their degree but want to ensure their academic skills and English fluency are at the required professional standard.
Core Academic Training
In this program, you don't just study English; you learn how to think and work like an Australian undergraduate. You will take five core modules, including Academic English B and Digital Literacy, which teach you how to use university software, manage online research databases, and format formal reports. Depending on your future degree, you will also choose between General Mathematics or Human Biology, giving you a head start on the specific subject matter you will encounter in your first year of university.
Active Student Participation
Life in the EPP is fast-moving and interactive. Rather than sitting in long lectures, you will spend your time in small, supported classes where you are encouraged to speak up, debate ideas, and work on group projects. You will learn the "Integrated Learning" method, which involves combining information from different sources to solve problems—a skill essential for the hundreds of degrees this program leads to. Because classes are held at the Newcastle City Campus (NUspace), you’ll be studying in a modern, professional environment right in the heart of the city.
A Seamless Transition to University
The primary goal of the EPP is to remove the "gap" between high school and university. By the time you finish the trimester, you will have adapted to the Australian grading system and teaching styles. Successful completion of the program allows you to progress directly into the first year of your Bachelor’s degree. This means you can start your degree with a pre-established network of friends and a complete understanding of the university’s expectations, significantly reducing the stress of your first year.
